Below are the key points of our dress code policy:

Dress for Special Occasions
On designated dress-up days or formal events, students must wear business attire, including collared shirts, ties, slacks, or dresses of appropriate length. Jeans and casual footwear are not permitted.
PE and Sports Attire
Athletic wear (which may include Florida Prep-branded T-shirts and shorts) is required for PE classes and sports activities. Proper athletic shoes must also be worn for all physical activities.
Residential Life Dress Code
Florida Prep's Residential Life dress code standards prepare students for real-world expectations of grooming and proper presentation. The following guidelines apply:
- Weekday Mornings: Boarding students attending breakfast during the week must be dressed in the academic uniform, ready for the school day. Academic uniform is required outside of the residence halls until 4:00 PM.
- After 4:00 PM: Non-dress code attire is permitted.
- Weekends: Non-dress code attire is allowed both on and off campus, promoting a more relaxed environment.
Non-Dress Code Attire Guidelines
- Clothing must reflect good taste and decorum.
- Prohibited: Midriff exposure, low-cut, see-through, sleeveless, or provocative tops.
- Logos and Artwork: No inappropriate language, slogans, artwork, or logos.
- Jeans: Permitted but must be in good repair.
- Pants: Should be worn at the waist.
- Shorts: Must adhere to the finger rule (no shorter than fingertips when measured along the outside of the leg/thigh).
- Tattoos should be covered.
- Ragged, obscene, or vulgar clothing styles are not allowed.
Final determination of acceptable attire lies with Florida Prep administrators. Adjustments may be required based on the direction of the Residential Dean or staff. If unsure, students should seek clarification in advance.
Hair, Accessories, and General Appearance
- Hair must be neat and well-groomed; extreme hairstyles or unnatural colors are not allowed.
- Jewelry and accessories must be minimal and not disruptive.
- Hats and sunglasses are not to be worn indoors.
Spirit Days
- On designated spirit days, students may wear school-appropriate casual attire, including jeans and Florida Prep T-shirts.
- Clothing must still adhere to guidelines for modesty and appropriateness.
